2002 Panmessinian Scholarship Winners to be Announced at Awards Reception
Fund's Benefactors Recognized

CHICAGO - 8 October 2002 The Selection Committee's work completed, and the winners notified, the Panmessinian Scholarship Foundation's Board of Directors will present this year's Grant winners at a gala reception to be held at Chicago's Fairmont Hotel on Wednesday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. This year, officials from Greece will also congratulate three deserving high school graduates who will be able to continue their higher educations, thanks in part to these grants.

Chris P. Tomaras, Chairman of the Foundation and a Messinian himself, will host the reception and encourages the public, and especially the Class of 2003 and their families, to attend and familiarize themselves with the Foundation's Grant Program. "While those of Messinian descent are given a certain priority, all promising high school graduates of Greek descent are eligible. The more funds raised by the Foundation through bequests, donations and events such as this, the more students we can help to spread the light of Hellenism on America's college campuses. In times such as these, this is more important than ever." Mr. Tomaras also serves as Vice President and Regional Coordinator for The Americas for the Council of Hellenes Abroad, or SAE.

Each of the recipients will receive their award and a certificate, and each will address the guests. The Foundation's elite group of benefactors will also be publicly recognized at the reception.
