The Paradigm Award is given annually to a distinguished Greek American whose career and accomplishments exemplify the Foundation's mission of excellence and for being a role model to young scholars. “Alexander Payne is a tremendously talented filmmaker and we are honored that he is the 2012 Paradigm Award recipient,” says Chris Tomaras, Chairman.  “Payne not only values education as evident from having attended UCLA, graduating with a Masters in Fine Arts, he is also someone who has not forgotten his Greek roots, no matter how successful he has become” continued Mr. Tomaras.

Alexander Payne whose given name is Konstantinos Alexandros Papadopoulos was born in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents Penny and George owned a Greek restaurant that was started by Payne's paternal grandfather.
