Preserving the Legacy & Celebrating Our Students

June 8, 2016, Chicago, IL - The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation's Awards Ceremony and Gala on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Ritz-Carlton, Chicago is officially SOLD OUT! The gala will be held in memory of our Founder, the late Chris P. Tomaras, with the theme, “Preserving the Legacy." We are so grateful for the overwhelming response by those who loved Mr. Tomaras. We are also excited to celebrate the 2016 Scholarship Award recipients with all of our guests. This year's scholars are among the best and brightest Greek American college students in the nation, and will receive a total of $250,000 in scholarships.

 

 

Paradigm Award Honoree John Koudounis

The Foundation is proud to honor John S. Koudounis, CEO of Calamos Investments, as the 2016 Paradigm Award recipient. Koudounis is a Chicago native who was one of the first in his family to attend college. He rapidly ascended through the ranks to become a prominent leader in the financial industry, and in 2008 he became the youngest CEO of any Wall Street firm when he assumed the leadership role at Mizuho at age 44. In March 2016 Koudounis became the Chief Executive Officer of Calamos Investments. He is a frequent guest on financial news programs, and is a board member at the National Hellenic Museum and Hellenic Initiative. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Joanne, and their twin daughters.

 

 

Mistress of Ceremonies Kiki Vale

The Foundation is thrilled to have Kiki Vale as our Mistress of Ceremonies. Kiki has over 25 years of broadcasting experience in Kansas City and Chicago. She founded Kukla Productions, a broadcast production company, and produced The Kiki Vale Show for over a decade. Kiki currently focuses mainly on motivational speaking engagements and writing. Kiki is currently writing her first non-fiction book, and lives in Hinsdale, Illinois with her husband, Brian, and their four children.

 

 

Raffle and Entertainment

The Foundation is offering a Grand Raffle at the Awards Ceremony and Gala, and you could win! The raffle's Grand Prize is $10,000! Purchase a book of five raffle tickets for $100, or buy one ticket for $25. Proceeds from the raffle directly support the Foundation’s scholarship program. Winner need not be present to win! The talented Chris Sarlas Orchestra will entertain our guests, and they will be joined by popular local singer and guest performer John Panopoulos.
