12/22/2016

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation would like to take this opportunity to wish our friends and supporters a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and a joyful and prosperous 2017.

As 2016 comes to a close, we ask you to remember the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation with a donation. Your tax-deductible contribution will directly assist deserving and exceptional undergraduates of Hellenic descent, and we would be incredibly grateful for your support of our mission and our scholars.

This year, the Foundation awarded over $250,000 in scholarships to the most exceptional Greek American undergraduates in the country. The scholarships were presented at the Foundation's annual Awards Ceremony and Gala, which took place at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago on Saturday, June 18, 2016. The event was held in honor of our beloved Founder, Chris P. Tomaras. At the SOLD-OUT event, the Foundation also honored John S. Koudounis, CEO of Calamos Investments, with the Paradigm Award.

Additionally, over this past year, the Board of Directors has focused on four growth initiatives for the Foundation: 1) connecting PanHellenic scholarship recipients with internships and jobs; 2) engaging all former PanHellenic scholarship recipients through the new Junior Board; 3) developing Regional Board Representatives on the East and West coasts; 4) co-branding and partnering with other organizations that are dedicated to promoting Education and Hellenism.

The Foundation is excited to again award $250,000 in scholarships in the coming year. The 2016-17 scholarship application is now available and the submission deadline is January 31, 2017. The scholarship awards will be given at our next Awards Ceremony and Gala, which will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Hilton Chicago! We are thrilled to have Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell, participate in our gala as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Register here to receive your invitation!

Board Chairman Robert A. Buhler remarked, "Thank you for your support of the Foundation throughout this past year. Because of you, our friends, we have continued to fulfill our mission to support exceptional college students of Hellenic descent. We have accomplished much this year, and with your help, the Foundation will continue to grow and support even more deserving and outstanding Greek American college students. On behalf of all of us at the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation, I convey our warmest holiday wishes to you and your family."

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
