The Foundation Looks Forward to the Awards Ceremony & Gala on June 17!

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation's is looking forward to its Awards Ceremony and Gala on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Hilton Chicago! At the gala, the Foundation will celebrate the 2017 Scholarship Award Recipients, who will receive a total of $250,000 in scholarships. The theme of the gala is "Building the Dream." Through the support of these exceptional scholars, the Foundation is building the dream of our beloved Founder, Mr. Chris P. Tomaras. Please join us as we honor these remarkable students!

 

Paradigm Award Honoree John Pappajohn
The Foundation is proud to honor Mr. John Pappajohn, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and business leader, as the 2017 Paradigm Award recipient. Mr. Pappajohn immigrated from Greece to Iowa with his family as a child, and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1952. After college, Mr. Pappajohn became one of the preeminent, national venture capitalists. Mr. Pappajohn and his wife, Mary, are passionate philanthropists, and they have gifted more than $100 million to various causes. Mr. Pappajohn has also been the recipient of many awards and sat on various boards across the U.S. The Pappajohns currently live in Des Moines, Iowa, and have a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and R.J. Vassiliou.



 

Mistress of Ceremonies Betty Cantrell
The Foundation is thrilled to have Betty Cantrell, Miss America 2016, as our Mistress of Ceremonies. Betty grew up in a Greek family in Georgia, and on September 13, 2015, she was crowned Miss America 2016. With her crown, she also won a $50,000 scholarship for college. As Miss America, Betty served as the official National Goodwill Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Betty attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and studied vocal performance. She recently moved to Nashville with her fiancé to pursue a career in country music.


 

Raffle & Entertainment
The Foundation is offering a Grand Raffle at the Awards Ceremony and Gala, and you could win! The raffle's Grand Prize is $10,000! Purchase a book of five raffle tickets for $100, or buy one ticket for $25. Proceeds from the raffle directly support the Foundation’s scholarship program. Winner need not be present to win! The talented Hellenic 5, DJ John Grammatis, and Martini Lunch Trio will entertain our guests at the gala on June 17.
